EMDR Basic Training Part 1 and 2

About The Practice of Therapy’s EMDR Basic Training Program:

The Practice of Therapy provides EMDRIA Approved EMDR Basic Training with a curriculum co-authored and designed by EMDR-trained clinicians, Dr. Kendhal Herrera, PsyD, LPC-S and Kristie Boggs, MA, LPC.  Trainings are facilitated by Dr. Kendhal Herrera, PsyD, LPC-S, who also provides supervised practicum and consultation hours along with other EMDRIA-Approved Consultants and Consultants-In-Training. 

What’s included:

Basic Training Part One - Training takes place over the course of 2 days through lecture and supervised practice.  Trainees will leave prepared to practice their skills implementing EMDR with clients prior to returning for Part 2. (20 hours)

Basic Training Part Two - Training takes place over the course of 2 days through lecture and supervised practice. Trainees will review the skills they learned in Part I and through consultations and acquire knowledge of more advanced EMDR skills. (20 hours)

Consultation - Trainees receive feedback and guidance on the EMDR skills they are utilizing with clients to help effectively integrate the new therapy into their practice. These consultation meetings may occur in person, via conference, or video call. (10 hours)

Lunch - Lunch, beverages, and light snacks will be provided during this training. Information will be provided to participants via email after registration. We strive to provide meals that fit all diets and lifestyles.

Successful completion of Basic Training Part One and Part Two plus 10 hours of consultation will allow a therapist to practice EMDR and advertise oneself as EMDR Trained.

The Practice of Therapy is an EMDRIA-approved provider of EMDR Basic Training.

Refund Policy:

To allow for individuals on a wait list an opportunity to attend a training, the full balance of the cost of the course must be received at least 14 days prior to the start of the class.

14+ Days’ Notice: We will provide a full refund less a $150 administrative fee. 

7-13 Days’ Notice: We will provide a full refund less a $250 administrative fee.

Less than 7 Days’ Notice: 50% of the total cost of your training will be forfeited. If you have already paid your balance in full, you may utilize the remaining 50% as credit toward a future training less a $150 administrative fee. This credit must be used within 6 months from the first date of your original training or it will be forfeited in its entirety. 

Policy for Changing Date for Part Two:

When a clinician registers for Basic Training, they will be committing to specific dates for part one and part two. In the event a clinician needs to attend part two on a different date or they fail to show up to part two, there will be an administrative charge of $250.00 to change dates. If a clinician no-shows Basic Training part two, they have 15 days to contact, reschedule, and pay the fee. If they do not make contact within that time frame, any fees paid will be forfeited.
